Please note: Stoneware is a naturally fragile material; take extra care with your one-of-a-kind serving platter. Fired at heats exceeding 1200°C, Gharyan's stoneware is naturally heat and shatter resistant, microwave safe and suitable for the dishwasher. As with all handmade, natural goods, some care is required to make them last. (See below.)

Materials

Made from enameled stoneware, completely free of toxic heavy metals (like cadmium and lead) and carcinogens found in other, less robust, ceramic forms.

Care & use

Quick, extreme temperature changes could cause stoneware to crack.
Do not preheat stoneware.
Do not place wet stoneware in the oven.
Do not place dense, frozen food items on stoneware.
Do not place hot stoneware directly on a cold surface. Use a trivet and let it cool down.
Using sharp utensils may leave slight scratches, especially on a matte finish.
A few options to help remove them: Rub using a good scrubber with baking soda, cream of tartare or scouring powder and water.
